G-WADI co-organized a meeting on "Arid and Semi Arid Development through Water Augmentation" (ASADWA) from 13-17 December 2010, in Valparaiso, Chile
The ASADWA International Conference was a joint activity of the UGent based UNESCO Chair of Eremology, the UNESCO Center CAZALAC and the Global Network on Water and Development Information for Arid Lands (G-WADI), and was supported by the Chilean National Comittee of the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (CONAPHI) and The Catholic University of Valparaiso (UCV).

The UNESCO G-WADI programme in conjunction with UNW-DPC is launching a capacity development activity focused on the semi-arid regions of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The primary goal of this programme is to enhance the communication between scientists and those engaged in policy and management of (mainly) groundwater resources, as outlined in the attached document.
